About

Giles Rayner is a sculptor with seemingly limitless imagination for creating Water Sculpture. His creations are always infused with a combination of beauty and intrigue, and just as importantly retain enough simplicity in order to keep a sense of timelessness, synonymous with the ancient/futuristic enigma of the Great Pyramids.

Working from his studio in Gloucestershire, Giles works on creations of a fascinating variety. Some works such as Spiral spin under water power as if melting into the sky and some drown out the noise of traffic, while others, for example Topiary, have been created in keeping with the grandest of traditional surroundings and yet retain the kind of fascination to which even the most blinkered of eyes must be drawn.

However, he does not like to make life easy for himself! Each design is a new challenge of ambition, and it is in this way that Giles feels he can not only keep moving forward, but also convey real energy into a work that is meant to live.

None of his designs are repeated, each designed for its setting. Commissions are usually first presented as drawings and superimposed on the projected settings, allowing potential clients to see possible designs before they are embarked on.
